    Trading Plan: Reversal Setups

Reversal Setups (Trendline breaks on 1 Min instead of 3 Min Charts)
are more profitable if the initial movement in the new direction is very strong
as you can see on attached screenshots, crude oil dropped much quicker after
    the pullback.

Conclusion its very unusual that the dax reverses without a trendline break on the 3 min chart, if I am uncertain i might exit but not reverse a position.

Most likely those reversals happen early in the morning or after news events, often in DP Areas

Trading Plan: Timing the 2 or 3 most profitable moves that happen everyday

Market cycles repeat over and over again, so to not get fooled by minor moves that happen and then reverse to the real trends sticking to certain entry times might help.

Over the last 6 month following entry times had been very proftiable for longer trends:

Monday: After 3.30 am and after 9.59 am
Tuesday: After 3.00 am, after 9.30 am and after 10.00 am
Wednesday: After 4.10 am, after 9.00 am and after 10.00 am
Thursday: After 4.00 am, after 8.20 am and after 9.45 am
Friday: After 3.30 am, after 8.30 am and after 9.45 am

Note: If the market already reversed earlier and there is high potential it obviously makes sense to enter earlier but that happens only every 10th day...

    Review 4th Week of August

    Most profitable moves:
Monday: After 3.30 am and after 9.59 am
Tuesday: After 3.00 am, after 9.30 am and after 10.00 am
Wednesday: After 4.10 am, after 9.00 am and after 10.00 am
Thursday: After 4.00 am, after 8.20 am and after 9.45 am
Friday: After 3.30 am, after 8.30 am and after 9.45 am

Trading Plan: How to trade news events

    • Being in 10-20 Min Prior to a News Event
    • Enter with stop order at the news release
    • After the event with a pullback

Entering after the breakout on a pullback sometimes does not work. Its far more profitable to have a position PRIOR to a news event with a breakeven stop, so you might get 10 points slippage but 9 out of 10 it works well.

About 90% of all explosive moves happen in direction that a small move prior to the news event did, so entering either on a small pullback on that prior move or with a stop market order will put you on the right side of the market. Since I always place a buy and a sell order at the same time either way i will have a position after an explovie move.

Its important to predefine the risk before placing a order, if the risk is too high its very likely that after the news release the price settles down and then a low risk entry in the direction of the breakout is possible.

Trading Plan: 1 Min Trendline Break & Entry on 30 Sec Charts

Looking at trendline breaks on the 1 Min Chart does usually not indicate a overall trend change
however if the 3 Min Trendline is far away and there is a change for a trade with high Risk/Reward Ratio, it ok to enter (especially after 3 higher swing highs and a huge run up). The first target would be the 3 min Trendline or any other major support level.

The 30 Sec Chart can provide entries with only half the risk than on a 1 min chart. Sometimes the risk on 1 min charts is too high for an entry so looking for entires on the 30 Sec Chart is the key especially if the polygonal moving average is already showing an ongoing trend.
