Only one good 5 Points long trade was in the morning session, as the polygonal regression channel was more than 10 points above the 200 ema no more buyers came in, in these conditions I am avoiding to trade.

Then as on every Wednesday a very trending crude oil and a breakdown in the stock market generated lots of points.

Today I learned to trade the manual decision points, as reversal bars and oversold on an indicator are alone not very useful, this is the main reason why automated systems fail, however by drawing in the support and resistance areas from yesterday and anticipating a bounce at those levels my trading I feel much more confident to take those trend change trades.

Still whats most important is trading at least 1 counter trend trade in the 4.30 to 6 am timeframe as well as 1 counter trend trade in the 10 to 11 am timeframe.
So the daily challenge is really to determine the trend after the open (3.10 am and 9.40 am) and then trend the countertrend trades or on very rare days let the trade run.

29th Tuesday Down, Up, Down, Side

High of the Day: Prior Day High
Morning Reversal at: Weekly R1 at 5.24 am
US Market Open Move ended at: Prior Day Highat 9.58 am
Low of the Day: Weekly R1
Close of the Day: 200 EMA

In the morning as expected we had a correction from yesterdays massive rally. So the Overbought System did not trade short since CMO indicator was not above 50 at the open, after 5 am the indicator was below -50 this triggered a long trade, the optimal exit would have been the manual DP target from the 5 min chart.

The scalping system in the morning generated lots of breakeven trades especially with these rules that prevents the system to take the wrong trades in choppy market conditions:
  • Don't go short if the Polygonal Moving Average is above 200 EMA
  • Don't go long if the Polygonal Moving Average is below 200 EMA
(exception to above rule is a wide range bar for the DAX over 10 Points, so after news I enter directly not waiting for a moving average to cross the 200 EMA line)

  • Trail short stop to Breakeven if last bars High was below the Entry Price
  • Trail long stop to Breakeven if last bars Low was above the Entry Price

Today we had a very bullish day, the CMO indicator worked very well, first short at 3.10 am then long from 4.20 am on the 10 Min Chart. For my scalping method I implemented today these rules:
  • Don't short if Zerolag Smooth Indicator is below 25
  • Don't go long if the Prior Day High is just a few ticks away.
  • Trail stop to the Median of the last bar if the last bar had a range of 9+ points.

Review 3th Week of September

This week was pretty volatile, but the tops and bottoms where pretty accurate identified by my Elliotwave and Overbought/Sold Strategy.

Next week I will continue trading those two systems, in combination with Reversal Bars for discretionary exit after the 2nd swing happened the systems will perform well in all market conditions.

This Morning the Oversold Strategy worked out well: On 60 Min the CMO indicator bounced off the -50 line which was mondays low price then a 2 min long signal occurred so I went long.

Then I learned to wait till 5 am before a long trend can start if the downtrend does not continue.

And then like on the 15th august we had a rally after the 8.30 news and then a massive sell off, now we should get an uptrend till the close...

Today I learned to use the CMO indicator and integrated it into my trading to define overbought/sold areas. As today is a FED news announcement day I will also trade the evening session. Crude Oil had a pretty good move today...

The FED announcement was quite difficult to trade as there was first no movement and then only long trades that did not work out, however on the short side some nice scalp trades happened.

I was not sure this morning to trade the long signal, because there was a gap up, however all strategies (10 Min Reversal, Breakout, MTP) and the 2 Min Signals told me to do so. I defiantly learned today to ignore historical patterns and simply trade whats happening now.

This morning we had a massive sell off, so I had to switch over to a trend short scalping method where I enter on pullbacks (entry on zerolag fast above zerolag slow osciallator) and not just on trend confirming red bars.

At 8 am the DAX was down - 1,35 % but S&P only - 0,5 %
so I am predicting another 10 Points decline for today since the DAX already hit last tuesdays opening prices and the S&P not...

Well not a 10 Points down move happend but a double bottom, so after the quick 8 points short trade later on a massive rally happened, so the S&P could filled its gap.

03rd Week of September

Like last week
monday morning starting on 3.30 am the trend started. What was new that there was first a short on monday morning and then the long trend till the end of the week. Buy and Hold 180 Points

The long trades on wednesday from the start or on tuesday beginning from 4.30 am till the end generated the most profits.

Elliotwave was also profitable this week, however ReversalBars or simple Breakout long trades are the better methods in this type of market.

High of the Day: Prior Day High
Morning Reversal at: Prior Day High at 3.22 am

Same as yesterday a rally at the 3 am open and the test for the double top rally started also at 5.30 am. So i am expecting a buy and hold trending day, ignoring peoples opinion about quadruple witching days...

Today i learned to stick to the long trend but keep in mind that 4 am and 8.30 am are times where people (I guess the folks from england and pre-market new yorkers) want to buy cheap and thats why its wise to bank in profits from the early morning and buy again on those times...

How it played out was that the long positons where all very profitable till the US market opened, so I learned to really go flat and reopen the long postions later again if a bullish pattern is in place.

This Up Movement stalled minutes after the 3 am Cash Market Open, then as usually the price came back to todays open so people can buy cheap, the buying happened however the little rally ended soon at 4 am on the base of last swing high. Same bounce happened on 5.55 am so looking for the 5722 target now. If this works i found a good way to trade sideways markets always targeting levels that have not been tested before.

This morning I learned what I means to trade a bull market, for the first time this year a break above prior days high did not make the prices pullback, so I adjusted strategies accordingly: Not shorting overbought prices or trading reversal signals between 3 am and 4 am if the prices is above prior days high.

The US session was only good for scalping at the time the DAX cash market closed (11.30 am) the trade from the 2 min chart got stopped out at breakeven, but no problem another long setup triggered a new long postion.
