  1. Morning,

So what are your thoughts regarding today's direction? :-)

It looks long at this point (even though all the 50 ema-s are below 200 ema - which; ultimately, would indicate that we have a bear market). But since macro is favoring long at this point, I'm looking to go long (if I get the confirmation from price action).

    Have a great one! :-)

  2. vol 2:

But there are also some signs of a potential down move (at 6130/6133 levels). So we'll see what happens until 3am, as always! :-)))

  3. good morning, lets see if price can break this down channel, usually we should see the same price action that happend fridays after 10.40. But i really dislike trading short the dax till we see a double top (on 3 min chart), so still counting on a long move after 2.45 am

  4. btw what happend to your short position on friday? I exited too early, on the very trending days like tuesdays and fridays it somehow makes sense to hold at least 1 contract till the close...

  5. I exited my short at 6160 and I pretty much left town around 13:00 (European time), so I did not trade anymore on Friday. :-)

  6. long of course till we have a new higher high then sell off (this pattern fools the crowd, so the pros can make profits)

  7. Alright... have a short position from 6130, but I was thinking if I should close it. Just was interested in your opinion. :-)

  8. which high are you targeting? There are a few resistances. 6150ish?

  9. 6130 to 6139.5

but it will be a double top so enough time to sell at the very high and then short again.

  10. Not sure if we'll go that high... might just come down again.

  11. its interessting that you say you have a short position from 6130, i waited for the trendline break at 6123 so i had just 23 points from the down move till 6100.

still trying to learn your entry method, you said you have an indicator based on prior resistance, but most resitance areas are around the even numbers 6130, 6120, so your short entry is pretty much when you see prices stalling (not going further up) at an even number?

  12. My entry points actually don't have much to do with round numbers. I just like to enter at those (when I set my LMT order). I like round numbers. :-)

Today I was looking to go short at 6130 (or 6133.50). But since I don't want to go EXACTLY at the level (because I might not get in), I set my LMT order 0.5 or 1point below my entry/exit point. Just to make sure I get in/out. As you might know, I don't use trendline breaks to enter/exit my position. I only use those to add to my position (OR when I am scalping a channel).

  13. btw i am out of my long position (3 higher highs) now short again

  14. Nice... I'm looking for a confirmation from my strategy to go in as well. It works best at first entries, but hope to get a confirmation for this one as well. 6112 is a key level here... want to see it fail. :-)

  15. I agree with you, got stopped out at breakeven, so better waiting for confirmations, on the down AND up side :-)

  16. Just noticed something... we might have a long ride from 6101. Especially when 6112 didn't fail right now. So I'm staying aside and looking for confirmations also for either side.

  17. Will see what happens during the next 15 min and/or at 6130. If I won't get any good signals from the market, I will hit the gym and go jogging. No need to watch the market perform weird 10-point range for 3 hours. :-)))

  18. i agree, its just the same chop happend on friday at 12pm (so 30 min after the dax closed) usually i have weekend at that point, but then the downtrend started, so hoping we get the same 50 points downmove now

    ReplyDelete
  19. yes, but waiting for another trendline break to add more contracts

  20. I'm still looking that 6112 level, which is a important support. But DAX is not what I would consider perfect... I like entering on high/low's, so going short in the middle of the ATR is not perfect for me.

So I'll keep following the charts for a few minutes to see if it would be smarter for me to just hit the gym. :-)
